Phase-field approximations for branched transport, urban planning.

Résumé
This talk is concerned with approximations to the branched transport, urban planning and Steiner problems. I will introduce a family of functionals modeled on the one from Ambrosio and Tortorelli and show that such family Gamma-converges to the branched transport problem with a transport cost per unit length 1+\alpha m, where m is the transported mass. I will show how to generalize this approach to deal with the urban planning problem and Plateau’s type problems.
